Research infrastructures
Research infrastructures are essential tools in the work of our researchers. Infrastructures range from state-of-the-art laboratories to research stations and computing capacity.
Public infrastructure
The department's infrastructure is open and it is possible for external interests to use our facilities and our research infrastructure. The research at our department is broad and complex, and some of our infrastructure is linked to a specific research area.
If you want to know more about our research infrastructure, you are welcome to contact one of our researchers or read more on the pages of our research divisons.
The Deparment´s common infrastructure
Myfab Uppsala
Myfab is a distributed national research infrastructure for cleanroom based research and development in microtechnology, nanoscience and materials research.
AM laboratory at Ångström laboratory
At the Ångström laboratory there are substantial infrastructure for research in additive manufacturing.

Applied Mechanics
The department's laboratory can help you generate data on the mechanical response of materials. Information about the Applied Mechanics Laboratory
Applied Materials Science
The department's tribomaterials group has developed and built a diverse and unique collection of test rigs for tribological testing. Information about tribological testing
In addition to the tribological testing laboratory, the department has a local laboratory. The laboratory of the Elmin group
Biomedical Engineering
In order to promote Swedish life science research, our medical technology research department has a laboratory, Customised Microfluidics, which can be used to design and manufacture microfluidic systems. The services are available to research groups at all Swedish universities as well as national companies that will benefit from introducing microfluidic solutions to their research and FoU.
