Vinnova - Emerging technology solutions in synthetic biology

Project Summary

Antibiotic resistance is a global threat to the human health addressed in the UN Sustainable Development Goals. In the project 'Exploiting synthetic biology and microfluidics to determine the mutagenic potential of antibiotics' we aim to increase our understanding on the possible risks of resistance development in bacteria from exposure to antibiotics, specifically focused on mutagenic potential of antibiotics. To achieve this, we will further expand the droplet microfluidics toolbox that the Tenje lab has pioneered during the last ten years, to develop methods of using integrated acoustics to sort droplets based on content.
