Description

UHE collaborated with researchers from the Department of Applied Animal Science and Welfare at SLU (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences) and Terapihundskolan (the Swedish Therapy Dog School) in Strömsholm to systematically review and assess the impact of animal-supported services on child well-being, behavioral problems, and educational outcomes. This project will continue by examining the effectiveness of school dogs in improving school attendance and learning outcomes for children experiencing chronic school absenteeism. The findings of this study aim to provide decision-makers with insights to inform the future implementation of such interventions in Sweden.
