Laran Matta
Laran Matta graduated from the Master’s Programme in Global Health in 2020 and now works as a Project Coordinator at Uppsala University. Laran works in the Prevent project, which aims to co-design, implement, and test a tele-health coaching intervention with community outreach for the reduction of cardio-metabolic risk among high-risk populations in Region Uppsala. Her main roles include oversight of all of the sub-studies in their implementation research project, drafting of standard operating procedures (SOPs), training, and managing funds/applying for research grants. Elsharif Izzeldin
Sharif graduated from the Master’s Programme in Global Health in 2023 and now works as a Health Programme Officer at the World Health Organization (WHO). At WHO, Sharif helps implement the Country Support Plan by working closely with the Ministry of Health to align projects with national health priorities. He manages and monitors health initiatives, from nutrition and food security to community-based programs like Healthy Cities and Villages. He tracks progress using WHO’s monitoring framework, helps secure extra resources, and supports health performance and insurance assessments. He also develops communication materials and reports that share results, lessons learned, and insights to strengthen future programs. Exchange programme in Munich, Germany
Students from the Master's programme have been participating in an Erasmus exchange programme at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU) in Germany.

Global Health Case Challenges
Students from the Master’s programme are given the opportunity to participate in Global Health case challenges, competing in teams to create innovative solutions to relevant global health problems. Examples from previous years include the Global Health Case Challenge at the University of Copenhagen and the Urban Health Case Challenge (UHCC) from the 4EU+ University Alliance.
