Paediatrics Unit

The Pediatric unit conducts research with a focus on the health and diseases of children and young people. The research projects include care of premature babies and child health care and aim to prevent health problems later in life. Pediatric healthcare is a broad field, but we particularly want to improve diagnostics and treatment of asthma and respiratory diseases, obesity, kidney diseases, neurological diseases, inflammatory diseases and cancer.
A particular focus area concerns the prevention of long-term consequences of cancer treatment in children. The research is done in close collaboration with the Academic Children's Hospital.
