Graduation Ceremony for graduating students at the Disciplinary Domain of Science and Technology
The graduation ceremony is a festive event in the University Main Building for all graduating students at the Disciplinary Domain of Science and Technology. During the ceremony, ceremonial diplomas are awarded by the Faculty's Vice-Rector while music is provided by the Royal Academic Orchestra. Guests and graduates are also treated to entertainment and speeches from UTN, the the Vice-Rector and a graduate.
To be able to attend the graduation ceremony, you must have submitted a notification of interest and had your degree approved and registered in Ladok. Then you will receive the official invitation to the ceremony.

When is the graduation ceremony 2026?
- On October 10, ceremonies will be held for graduates with a civil- or högskoleingenjörsexamen. Pre-registration for the graduation ceremony will open in February 2026.
- On November 14, ceremonies will be held for graduates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and högskoleingenjör i kärnkraftteknik. Pre-registration for the graduation ceremony will open in February 2026.
How can I attend the graduation ceremony?
1. Pre-register
To receive an official invitation to the ceremony, you must first pre-register by submitting a notification of interest. You don’t need to have your degree registered in Ladok to pre-register.
Civil- or högskoleingenjörsexamen
For those of you that plan to obtain a civil- or högskoleingenjörsexamen at the Disciplinary Domain of Science and Technology. Pre-registration will open in February 2026.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and högskoleingenjör i kärnkraftteknik
For those of you who plan to obtain a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at the Disciplinary Domain of Science and Technology. Pre-registration will open in February 2026.
2. Apply for a degree
Apply for a degree in Ladok as soon as you have finished all your courses within your program. Normal processing time is within 60 days after applying. Here you can find more information about how to apply for a degree.
Courses that are not included in your study plan must be credited if you are studying a vocational programme (e.g. civil engineer or university engineer). Remember to apply in time.
The programme's degree requirements determine what can be credited and what can then be included in your degree. You will find the degree requirements in the programme's syllabus.
3. Make an official registration
If you have registered your interest and had your degree registered and approved in Ladok, you will receive an official invitation to the ceremony by email. The invitation will be sent out the week after last day to submit a notification of interest.
The invitation contains a registration link and if you still want to attend the ceremony, you must submit an official registration for the ceremony. Registration is open for two weeks.
Note that you must have submitted a notification of interest and had your degree approved and registered in Ladok before you can officially register and to be able to attend the ceremony.
