Kort presentation
Jag arbetar som överläkare i Barnmedicin på Akademiska sjukhuset och har sedan många år haft ett extra stort intresse i inflammatoriska sjukdomar hos barn. Min forskning handlar till stor del om den vanligaste autoimmuna sjukdomen hos barn, juvenil idiopatisk artrit. Jag blev docent 2014 och sedan 2018 ett adjungerat lektorat. Sedan 1996 ingår jag i ett nätverk av forskande nordiska barnreumatologer och jag har samarbeten med flera forskargrupper inom Sverige.

Anställningar efter läkarlegitimation
Jag har arbetat som barnläkare sedan 1988, det första året på Barnkliniken Umeå lasarett, 1989 till 2005 på Barnkliniken Falu lasarett och sedan 2005 har jag en överläkartjänst på Barnkliniken, Akademiska sjukhuset, Uppsala. Universitetsanställning 50 % 15 mars 2011 till 15 maj samt oktober-november 2011 som s.k. gästlektor. Är idag ansvarig för den barnreumatologiska vården på Akademiska sjukhuset och har ett regionansvar med konsultativ verksamhet och undervisning. Lektoratsvikariat 50 % nov 2015-juli 2016. Adjungerad universitetslektor 20% 2019-01-01 t.o.m. 2020-12-31 och 2021-01-01 t.o.m. 2022-12-31.
Nationellt förtroendeuppdrag
Under åren 2004-2016 ordförande för Svensk Barnreumatologisk förening, delförening inom Svenska Barnläkarföreningen, ingår idag i styrelsen.
Koordinator och initiativtagare till det nationella vårdprogrammet för farmakologisk behandling av barn med juvenil idiopatisk artrit sedan 2005. Initiativtagare till Svenska Barnreumaregistret som numera styrs och administreras från Stockholm.

Forskningsmeriter
Disputation i Göteborg 24 januari 2003 med avhandlingen: ”Juvenile idiopathic arthritis in the Nordic countries. Aspects of classification, epidemiology and pain assessment. Ingår i en nordisk forskargrupp sedan 1996 där vi träffas två gånger per år.
Handledare Jag har varit huvudhandledare för två barnläkarkollegor i varsitt forskningsprojekt, Anders Öman på Akademiska sjukhuset, disputation 2021-02-12, Maria Ekelund på Ryhovs sjukhus i Jönköping som avslutade med en licentiatexamen 2020-09-30. Jag är också huvudhandledare till dietist Naima Hagström, doktorandregitrerad 2020-10-30 samt för post doc Agnes Szentpetery ST-läkare i reumatologi. Bihandledare Jag har varit bihandledare till Anna-Lena Cedströmer, tandläkare i Göteborg i hennes projekt om käkledspåverkan vid barnreumatism, även till sjukgymnast Anna-Clara Esbjörnsson i ett delprojekt inom ramen för det nordiska multicenterprojektet.
Ledamot av betygskommittén vid halvtidsdisputation för Anna-Clara Esbjörnsson, sjukgymnast på ALB, Stockholm, 2012-09-17. Jag var ordförande under halvtidsdisputation 2015-06-08 för Jennifer Johnsson, Akademiska barnsjukhuset och ledamot av betygskommittén vid halvtidsdisputation för Inger Wahlström Jonsson, barnläkarkollega på vår klinik, okt 2017, likaså vid halvtidsdisputation för tandläkare Alexandra Dimitriijevic Carlsson 2020-10-07.
Samarbetspartners I studierna om tarmens koppling till artritutveckling finns ett samarbete med Lars Engstrand professor på KI, även med SLU (Sveriges Lantbruksuniversitet), docent Johan Dicksved där vi studerar tarmflora och även metabolomik. För immunhistokemisk studie på tarmslemhinna hos barn med JIA samarbetar jag med Miika Arvonen och Tuomo Karttunen i Finland. För studier kring tarmpermeabilitet finns samarbete med docent Dominic Luc Web samt professor Per Hellström, Akademiska sjukhuset Uppsala.
I det nordiska projektet ingår forskande barnreumatologer från Sverige, Finland, Danmark och Norge. Alla har forskningspositioner på nordiska universitetssjukhus.
Lektorat: Jag har under nio månader 2015-2016 haft ett vikariat som lektor på 50 % på Uppsala universitet. Adjungerad universitetslektor 20% 2019-01-01 t.o.m. 2022-12-31.
Publikationer: Sammanlagt 42 originalartiklar på PubMed, tre bokkapitel och bl.a. koordinator för återkommande versioner av det nationella vårdprogrammet för barn med barnreumatism (29 sidor), samt för de nationella vårdprogrammen om behandling av reumatisk ögoninflammation hos barn med barnreumatism samt om vaccinationer av dessa barn.
