My research is based on transition metal nitrides for thermoelectric applications. We deposit thin films of transition metal nitrides using physical vapor deposition technique, especially by reactive magnetron sputtering. The electronic structure of the thin films are probed using lab and synchrotron based X-ray techniques. The Seebeck and the electrical resistivity are measured to probe the feasibility of the thin films as thermoelectric materials.
