Kort presentation
Denna text finns inte på svenska, därför visas den engelska versionen.
I am a plant and ecosystem ecologist that try to understand how the boreal forests and wetlands respond to global change (climate change, fire, pollution such as N deposition, and management). My research includes genetics, plant community and biodiversity, ecosystem functions (e.g. plant production, decomposition, N fixation), and ecosystem flows (carbon flux, nitrogen cycling). My main study system is peatlands, i.e. wetlands dominated by peat mosses (Sphagnum).

I work across scales: from genes and microbes to whole ecosystems and I try to close the gap between biogeochemistry and ecological/evolutionary processes when predicting ecosystem responses. Hence my research includes genetics, plant community and biodiversity, ecosystem functions (e.g. plant production, decomposition, N fixation), and ecosystem flows (carbon flux, nitrogen cycling). My main study system is peatlands, i.e. wetlands dominated by peat mosses (Sphagnum). I am involved in both applied (e.g. management and restoration) and more curiosity-driven research. Current main research topics are:
-
impact of global change on peat moss growth and their microbiome (e.g. N fixation)
-
local adaptation in peat mosses
-
ecosystem and community responses to boreal fires: peatlands and forests (wildfires, and prescribed fires for conservation)
-
forest management and carbon sequestration
