Description
The overarching purpose of FAIRTRANS is to facilitate and accelerate a fundamental transition to a just, fossil-free future. Through collaboration between researchers and civil society, especially large social movements, the research aims to create scientifically-based strategies and policy proposals for a rapid transformation that ensures both societal and climate goals.
Collaboration creates legitimacy and leads to frameworks that are perceived as fair, motivating and effective. FAIRTRANS aims to build capacity for the internal transition work of social movements. This involves both promoting innovative thinking about what relevant societal goals are today and also fostering education and learning to ensure that no-one is left behind during the transformation. By demonstrating that we can collectively transition quickly and fairly, we create a vision and hope for the future.
We lead Work Package 5: Co-creating fair transformations to a fossil-free future.
