Description

Biological and ecosystem (BioEco) ocean observation is crucial for enabling a better understanding of life in the ocean, improved management, and the sustainable use and development of the ocean. Consequently, there is a need for innovative solutions for planning and using ocean observation, and coordinated efforts that deliver data that can be used to enhance global understandings.

The EU-funded BioEcoOcean project brings together researchers and stakeholders to co-create a new Blueprint for Integrated Ocean Science that aims to improve collaboration and holistic thinking across the ocean observing value chain. The project advances research on many aspects of essential BioEco ocean observation, from planning observations and collecting and reporting data to developing ocean information products according to the needs of ocean data users.
