On December 14–15 the DePTER project will host an international benchmarking seminar, where the topics of ethical dilemmas in the teacher profession and phenomenon-based learning will be discussed by teacher students from Uppsala University, Tallinn University and The University of Helsinki. The purpose of seminar is to help students develop as reflective practitioners as well as their professional knowledges on teaching context and teaching content.

The staff training involves collaboration on the 4th intellectual output, “Training on subjectintegrative/
phenomenon-based teaching and learning” (IO4).The theme of the joint staff training event is A holistic approach: Phenomenon-based and subject integrative teaching and learning.

Activity description: During the training, the goal is to share experiences of working with phenomenonbased and subject-integrative teaching, and to analyse these in order to equip teacher educators and to support student teachers in applying these approaches.

You are invited to the international seminar where the topics of learning and teaching in open learning environments and learning engagement in primary school teacher profession will be discussed by students from Tallinn University, Uppsala University, and the University of Helsinki. Our joint seminars will take place on Monday 13th of September and Tuesday 14th of September. Each university will hold a local orientation days in preparation of the international seminars.
