University healthcare units and RD&T councils
University healthcare units are specialised healthcare units in Region Uppsala, primarily at Uppsala University Hospital. These units are part of a collaboration with Uppsala University. They conduct joint research, teaching, and clinical development. In total, there are 18 university healthcare units.
Each unit has an RD&T council that plans and follows up on research and teaching activities. An academic representative chairs the council, which includes members from both Region Uppsala and Uppsala University.
