Licentiate and doctoral degrees
Degree of Licentiate
A Degree of Licentiate is awarded after a student has completed 120 credits within in a doctoral level subject including a research thesis of at least 60 credits. (The scope of the thesis is determined by the general syllabus.)
The field of specialisation is indicated in the title of the degree.
Degree of Doctor
A Degree of Doctor is awarded after a student has completed 240 credits within in a doctoral level subject including a doctoral thesis of at least 120 credits. (The scope of the thesis is determined by the general syllabus.) The doctoral thesis must have been orally defended at a public defence.
The field of specialisation is indicated in the title of the degree.
Faculty of Theology
The degrees of Licentiate of Philosophy (Faculty of Theology) (Teologie licentiatexamen) and Doctor of Philosophy (Faculty of Theology) (Teologie doktorsexamen) may be awarded in the following subjects:
