With over 30 years of experience in journalism and strategic communication, Kristin Karlsson has always striven to share her knowledge. First at Liverpool John Moores University and since 2021 at Uppsala University.

Kristin Karlsson is the director for the university's one-year dedicated journalism program. She remains active as a journalist, specializing in cross-border investigations, with environmental focus.

Kristin Karlsson holds a master’s degree in Politics and Mass Media from the University of Liverpool, UK. She conducts research and teaches in the field of contemporary journalism. As a journalist, she worked for both local and national media outlets in Sweden, including Dagens Nyheter. 

Kristin Karlsson has also worked in key strategic communication roles, such as Press Manager at KRAV and Communications Manager at CONCORD Sweden, a platform made up of 75 Swedish civil society organisations, working for a more just and sustainable world by influencing Swedish and European foreign and development policies.
