Kort presentation
Pär Zetterberg är professor i statsvetenskap vid Uppsala Universitet. Han forskar och undervisar främst inom jämförande politik och anlägger ofta ett genusperspektiv på frågor som rör politisk representation, politiska partier, kandidatnominering, kvotering, politiskt deltagande, autokratisering och politiskt våld m.m. Hans forskning återfinns i tidskrifter så som American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science och Journal of Politics.

Forskning
Pär Zetterbergs forskning rör sig inom området jämförande politik och handlar bland annat om politisk rekrytering och politisk representation i ett jämförande perspektiv, oftast med betoning på utvecklingsländer. Han ägnar främst uppmärksamhet åt hur ojämställdhet i politiken uppstår, reproduceras och bryts. Bland hans forskningsintressen återfinns även frågor om hur auktoritära regeringar strategiskt omfamnar respektive motarbetar jämställdhet för att stärka sin egen makt, om hot och våld mot politiker samt om hur individer utvecklar politiska attityder och beteenden.
Hans pågående externfinansierade forskningsprojekt handlar om: (1) Jämställdhetspolitiska strategier i auktoritära stater, (2) Kön och politisk representation i kristider, (3) Intellektuellt funktionshindrades politiska deltagande, (4) Homo- och bisexuellas rättigheter, och (5) Könsaspekter på politiskt våld. De fyra första projekten är finansierade av Vetenskapsrådet och det femte projektet är finansierat av Research Council of Norway.
Pär Zetterbergs forskning har publicerats i välrenommerade tidskrifter så som t.ex. American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, Political Behavior, Party Politics och Comparative Politics.
