Kort presentation

I am a Swedish Research Council supported Research Fellow at Uppsala University, Sweden. My research aims to understand magmatic processes using geochemistry and experimental petrology. I am especially interesed in Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and their effects on the environment and was recently awarded a project grant from the Swedish Research Council to work on LIPs including the High Arctic, Franklin, and Siberia.

Nyckelord

  • experimental petrology
  • volcanoes
  • large igneous provinces (lips)
  • environmental effect of lips
  • isotopic micro-analysis

Biografi

I completed my Bachelor degree in Geology at Trinity College Dublin in 2006 and obtained my PhD from Uppsala University in 2010. After that, I undertook Vetenskapsrådet-funded post-doctoral research at the NordSIM laboratory in the Swedish Museum of Natural History, Stockholm from 2011-2013. I followed that up with a 18-month period of teaching undergraduate Mineralogy and Metamorphic Petrology courses and a Masters course in Field Studies at Stockholm University while simultaneously beginning research at Uppsala University (UU) with the support of a Vetenskapsrådet Young Researcher grant. Most recently, I have been involved in an exciting research project with the Canadian Geological Survey looking at magma-sedimentary rock interaction in the High Arctic Large Igneous Province.
