From 7 to 11 October, the international KoF24 Medfarm panel visited the Disciplinary Domain. All Medfarm departments and the Centres for Clinical Research (CKF) held individual meetings with the panel, and the schedule was intense. In conclusion, it was a very valuable excercise for the future.
The panel was tasked with identifying successful research environments, focusing on those with the potential to develop within Medfarm. The carefully planned schedule allowed the panel members to meet with the management and junior researchers of the departments, as well as CKFs.

“Meeting the departments and CKFs of an entire disciplinary domain has been very interesting and rewarding for us on the panel, and for all of us personally as research colleagues from other universities. It is a fantastic initiative by Uppsala University to undertake such a comprehensive evaluation programme. We hope to give back and contribute with our collective thoughts for the future,” says Helle Prætorius Øhrwald, chair of the panel.
The panel will compile its impressions in a report to be submitted to Uppsala University. In this, the Disciplinary Domain will receive feedback on the overall impressions, along with suggestions on how Medfarm can work with and develop its research environments. Each department or CKF will receive a compilation of impressions as well as recommendations for the future.
“This is really valuable for us. We will certainly take advantage of the findings from the panel’s meetings with the organisation,” says Mats Larhed, Vice-Rector of the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy.
Mats Larhed summarises:
“It has been an educational week with the panel’s visit to Uppsala. I want to extend a big thank you to everyone who participated, both during the panel week and earlier, to make this possible.”
