RRI in bioscience

STARBIOS2 worked to advance the Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) strategy within the biosciences field. The project aimed to achieve RRI structural change in six institutions through the design and implementation of action plans.

The experience gained from these action plans was used to create guidelines and a model to support RRI structural change in biosciences globally. The overarching strategy of STARBIOS2 addressed the perceived risk of insufficient connection between European research and society, emphasising the need for research alignment with societal needs and values. This involved increased stakeholder involvement at all stages of the research and innovation process from the RRI perspective.

Uppsala University's Centre for Research Ethics & Bioethics contributed their experience of strategy for communication, dissemination and exploitation to support the impact of the project.
