ISP Physics supports one research group in Zimbabwe:

• The groundwater system in Bulawayo at the National University of Science and Technology

The groundwater system in Bulawayo

This research group at the National University of Science and Technology, Bulawayo, received ISP support between 1993 and 2002. ISP support was resumed as of 2013. The activities are coordinated by Dr Mervin Gumbo.

Objectives

The main objective is to provide a sustainable water management framework for groundwater quality in the Bulawayo metropolitan area through mitigation of hazard due to potential water contaminant transport from the waste disposal sites into the groundwater system of the Bulawayo Metropolitan area.
