Nordic Research Network on Vascularized 3D Organ-on-Chip Systems (NORDVASC3D)
NORDVASC3D is a NordForsk-funded research network bringing together researchers from Finland, Sweden, and Norway to advance functional vascularized 3D organ-on-chip systems. By integrating expertise in microfluidics, biomaterials, stem-cell biology, tissue engineering, and advanced imaging, the network aims to develop dynamic and perfusable human tissue models for disease research, drug testing, and personalized medicine.
At Uppsala University, our contribution focuses on developing microfluidic platforms for vascularized three-dimensional cell cultures. The network also supports Nordic collaboration through researcher exchanges, workshops, joint training activities, and a summer school.
