How can we ensure academic integrity in an era where generative AI is changing doctoral education? In this seminar, we will focus on how to avoid plagiarism and improper use of generative AI. The discussion will be based on research ethics and the faculty’s new policy as well as current research and participant experiences. We will discuss how to guide doctoral candidates in working ethically and in line with good scientific practice, how to promote their independence and academic writing skills, and how to foster their academic integrity. We will highlight expectations and responsibilities for supervisors and doctoral students and discuss practical strategies.
