Research Infrastructure Committee

Tasks

• to act as a preparatory and advisory body to the Advisory Committee for Research and the Faculty Board in matters relating to research infrastructure
• to assess which infrastructures at the faculty that meet the requirements for classification as research infrastructure according to the university's definition
• to participate in the revision of the faculty's research infrastructure portfolio
• to assess and prioritize requests received regarding the faculty's co-financing of research infrastructure
• to assess and prioritize needs in needs inventories and other matters related to calls for funding of research infrastructure, e.g., VR-RFI
• to continuously monitor and discuss issues related to infrastructure at the university, national, and international levels and link them to the work within the Disciplinary Domain, the Advisory Committee for Research, and the Research Infrastructure Board.
  

Composition

The Deputy Dean of Research is the chair. The Working Committee appoints members other than the chair on the recommendation of the section deans, who propose one representative from their section, of which the faculty's two members of the Research infrastructure board normally represent their respective sections. Two student representatives (one regular and one alternate, of which one is preferably a doctoral student) are part of the committee.

The Research Infrastructure Committee appoints a vice chair from among its members. The term of office is three years, starting from January 1, 2026.
