Pilot of the Automated Course Evaluation Process – Autumn 2026
Uppsala University is introducing a new course evaluation system, Survey&Report. As part of the implementation, a pilot project will test a more automated course evaluation process. The aim is to simplify the administration of course evaluations and establish a more consistent process for both teachers and administrators.Pilot departments
During Autumn 2026, the following departments are participating in the pilot implementation of Uppsala University's new course evaluation system:
- Department of Business Studies
- Department of Physics and Astronomy
- Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering
- Department of Literature and Rhetoric
If you work at one of these departments, you will find information, guides and answers to frequently asked questions about Survey&Report on these pages.
How the new course evaluation process works
A course evaluation is created automatically from a predefined template when the course is published in Studium.
- The Course Coordinator automatically becomes the owner of the course evaluation.
- The course evaluation opens and closes automatically according to the predefined dates.
- Once the course evaluation has closed, the results (excluding free-text responses) are published automatically.
What Course Coordinators need to do
As a Course Coordinator, you only need to complete a few tasks:
- Add your own questions if you wish.
- Write the course report in accordance with your department's procedures.
Good to know
Review of free-text responses
Once the course evaluation has closed, the free-text responses are reviewed and summarised by the person assigned the reviewer role. The summary is then published in the course report.
Previous course evaluations
Course evaluations from previous semesters remain available in the current course evaluation system and are not affected by the pilot project.
