- Be a good fellow student.
Pedagogical program at Uppsala University
Uppsala University has a so-called Pedagogical Program that is important for you to be aware of. It not only covers the pedagogy you can expect to encounter but also outlines what is expected of you as a student at Uppsala University.
Examples of points include:
- “Students should reflect on their own learning in relation to expected learning outcomes… and be prepared to provide feedback on teaching to instructors.
- “Students should attend introductory sessions, read course syllabi… participate in and contribute to discussions and group work… and consider their fellow students' perspectives and experiences…”
- “Students are expected, based on good subject knowledge, to take advantage of opportunities for problem-solving and critical thinking provided in the teaching and contribute to creating such opportunities.”
Things to consider when contacting us
We at the department are involved in both research and teaching across various courses, so we receive many emails each day. You are, of course, welcome to contact us, but please consider the following points:
Think carefully before emailing and avoid unnecessary emails: Is the information available elsewhere? For example, on our website or in Studium, or can you ask a fellow student? Do not email multiple people simultaneously about the same issue. In your email: Always clearly state who you are and which course/term/program you are in. Ask your question as specifically as possible.
Who should I contact? NOTE! Read the information on the website or in Studium first. The answer to your question might be there.
