Biografi
Books published since 2021:
1. Nietzsche’s ‘Ecce Homo’ and the Revaluation of All Values: Dionysian versus Christian Values. Published by Bloomsbury Academic, 2021.
A highly positive review in Journal of the History of Philosophy (JHP, April 2023: “It is difficult to review a book so rich in consequences and seemingly sui generis […] this book also heralds a great future for Nietzsche scholarship, for what it calls and awakens a hunger for is the revaluation of both the Nachlass and Nietzsche’s final two books”.
2. Nietzsche’s Reading and Knowledge of Philosophy: A Study, Survey and Handbook, Peter Lang, 2023.
This book is an in-depth study of Nietzsche’s reading and his knowledge of philosophy and philosophers. It examines his relation to the major European thinkers and Eastern traditions, as well as his knowledge and reading of intellectual women and journals of philosophy.
3. ‘Twilight of the Idols’ and Nietzsche’s Late Philosophy: Toward a Revaluation of Values, Bloomsbury Academic, 2023.
“Brobjer’s monograph on Twilight of the Idols is a substantial contribution to the international Nietzsche debate, particularly because the author is able to combine the perspective of philosophy and the perspective of intellectual history. The book is of great relevance for all scholars in the field” Andreas Urs Sommer.
4. The Close Relationship between Nietzsche’s Two Most Important Books, Palgrave-Macmillan, 2023.
Over a thousand downloads within the first year of this study of the relationship between Also sprach Zarathustra and his planned but unfinished four-volume Revaluation of All Values.
5. Nietzsche’s Revaluation of All Values. Cambridge Elements. Cambridge University Press, 2024.
Nietzsche frequently turned other questions such as epistemological and ontological ones into axiological ones, making values pivotal in his thought. It is possible to argue that the revaluation of all values is both the most important and today the most relevant of Nietzsche’s main philosophical themes and projects. Furthermore, the theme is intimately involved with what Nietzsche regarded as his most important work, his unfinished magnum opus (that he called his Hauptwerk), for a long period called The Will to Power but later Revaluation of All Values.
Further books in the process of being published:
1. Atlas of the History of Modern Science. Springer Verlag, 2025.
2. The Young Nietzsche: An Intellectual Biography and Handbook of His Life and Reading 1850-1869. Walter de Gruyter, 2025.
3. Nietzsche’s The Antichrist as Part of and Key to His Unfinished Revaluation of All Values. Palgrave-Macmillan, 2025.
