SEAMaN - South-East Asia Mathematical Network
This was a network between the Departments of Mathematics at
- National University of Laos in Laos
- University of Mandalay in Myanmar
- Royal University of Phnom Penh in Cambodia
ISP supported the network 2015-2024. The node in Laos is still supported by ISP.
The node in Cambodia was also part of the Sida bilateral research programme in Cambodia.
Objectives
This network aimed to create, within a reasonable number of years, a critical mass of active researchers in areas of common interests (PDE, combinatorics, applied statistics and modeling and control) to contribute to the region's social and economic development.
Outside Academia, there is a significant demand for highly educated mathematical problem-solvers in the industry, financial sectors, insurance companies, and education and research centres.
