Fex-Talk
Fex-Talk is a brief educational intervention for nurses. The intervention intends to increase and enhance nurses' readiness and overcome barriers to discuss fertility and sexuality with cancer patients.
The intervention involves a single session and consists of various components, including videos, lecture, role play and assignments, in accordance with Kolb's experiential learning cycle. The intervention has been given within courses for nurses in clinical cancer care and within the specialist nursing program in oncological care.
Results from the evaluation of the Fex-Talk intervention indicate that the intervention increased nurses' understanding of patients' needs related to fertility and sex, and overcome barriers to initiate discussions about these topics with their patients.
