Study at Department of Surgical Sciences
The department of Surgcial Sciences has serveral programmes and courses for first cycle studies, second cycle studies and third cycle studies.
Education at undergraduate and graduate level
At the Department of Surgical Science we teach at the radiography programme and parts of the programs for medical education, biomedical education, speech therapist education and nursing education. At the advanced level, we are responsible for several specializations within the specialist nursing program as well as for a number of specializations and independent courses in surgery, anesthesia, intensive care, radiography and pain treatment.
Post graduate education
The Department of Surgical Sciences conducts high-quality postgraduate education in a wide range of subjects related to surgery. We have about 220 PhD students who are affiliated with the department. The Post graduate education is mainly located at Uppsala University Hospital.
Uppsala University and Uppsala University Hospital conduct world-class medical research together and educate doctors, nurses, and specialist nurses.
