Book cabinets at Carolina Rediviva
The book cabinets at Carolina Rediviva are intended for those who need to borrow and store in-house loans as well as other library loans for an extended period, for example for projects that require many loans or for thesis writing. The library cannot guarantee that everyone who applies for a cabinet will receive one.
- You must be engaged in research or studies. Priority is given to researchers and thesis-writing students at Uppsala University.
- You must have a library account at Uppsala University Library.
Rules
- Library materials must be checked out at the self-service machine before being placed in the cabinet.
- It is not permitted to store materials from the reference collections in the cabinet.
- It is not permitted to store anything that may be harmful to library materials, such as fruit, food, or beverages.
- You may not transfer the key or cabinet to another person.
- The Library is not responsible for personal items stored in the cabinet.
- The Library reserves the right to open all cabinets and carts with a master key when necessary and without prior notice.
- The library reserves the right to reclaim cabinets that are not in use or where the rules are not followed. The library may also reclaim cabinets in times of high demand.
- The library reserves the right to change all or parts of the rules during the loan period. As a borrower, you are responsible for keeping yourself updated on the rules via the library’s website.
Loans and returns
- The cabinet key is registered to your library account
- Keys are returned at the information desk at Carolina Rediviva.
- For Uppsala University students and other borrowers at Uppsala University Library, the cabinet loan period is 30 days with automatic renewals for up to one year, unless the Library recalls the cabinet.
- For researchers and doctoral students, the cabinet loan period is 30 days with automatic renewals for up to three years, unless the Library recalls the cabinet.
- When the maximum loan period has been reached, contact Ask the Library to apply for a new loan period.
Lost keys
- A fee of SEK 300 is charged for lost keys.
