The Bio-Medical Library is unstaffed but you are welcome to use our digital information desk Ask the Library.
Opening hours
The library premises are open around the clock, but at certain times a campus card is required to enter the building.

Borrowing and returning books
Borrow and return
There is a self-service machine for loans and returns in the library, near the entrance. After returning materials in the machine, put them in the return box. You can also return books borrowed at our other libraries.
Your loans are renewed automatically where possible.
Books for pickup
Books that you have requested can be picked up from the lockers located directly to the left of the entrance to the BMC Library. Please follow the instructions on the lockers' display.
Interlibrary loans and articles
Interlibrary loan books can be picked up from the lockers located directly to the left of the entrance. If you have requested a copy of an article, you will find it on the shelf near the entrance of the library.
Your loans are renewed automatically where possible.
Food and beverages
- No food is allowed in the library.
- Water and coffee are allowed if you have a top on your cup or bottle.
- There is a café, lunch restaurant, and a pantry with microwave ovens in other parts of the building.
Study spaces
The Bio-Medical Library offers study spaces for individual, quiet study:
- Total number of seats: 40
- Seats with computers: 3
Close by you will find 7 group rooms (no booking).

Public computers
As a student, researcher or employee at Uppsala University, you use your university account and password A to access the computers.

Copy, scan and print
Everyone is welcome to use the University's printing system eduPrint.
