Earth Sciences Library
The Earth Sciences Library is unstaffed but you are welcome to use our digital information desk Ask the Library.
From 22 June, the Earth Sciences Library will be closed to visitors between 07.00 and 11.00 whilst the light fittings are being replaced. The work is expected to take about a month.
Opening hours
The library premises are open around the clock, but at certain times a campus card is required to enter the building.

Accessibility
The library is on the entrance floor of the building.
There is a door opener into the building at the main entrance closest to the carpark. There are no door openers to the library, the quiet reading rooms or the group rooms.
If you need access to the open stacks in the basement, please contact Ask the Library before your visit.
The RWC is located at the far end of the library.
Borrowing and returning books
Borrow and return
The self-service machine is located to the left of the library entrance. After returning material in the machine, please place it in the return box. You can also return books borrowed at our other libraries.
Your loans are renewed automatically where possible.
Books for pickup
Books that you have requested or queued for can be found on the trolley to the left of the library entrance.
Interlibrary loans and articles
Interlibrary loans and articles can be found on the trolley to the left of the library entrance. Interlibrary loans do not need to be registered in the self-service machine.
Food and beverages
- No food is allowed in the library.
- Water and coffee are allowed if you have a top on your cup or bottle.
- There is a café, lunch restaurant, and a pantry with microwave ovens in other parts of the building.
Study spaces
The Earth Sciences Library offers study spaces for individual work and collaboration, low voice.

Next to the library there is a quiet reading room with 6 computers.
Technical equipment and locally available e-resources
Public computers
As a student, researcher or employee at Uppsala University, you use your university account and password A to access the computers.

Everyone is welcome to use the University's printing system eduPrint.
