Complementary supervisor training course

A complementary supervisor training course (two half-days and a few assignments) is offered to doctoral supervisors who have already undergone extensive supervisor training at another university, and only need to complement with knowledge and awareness about supervision at Uppsala university and especially at our faculty.

We will critically reflect on local guidelines and regulations as well as disciplinary culture, and their effect on doctoral education. The individual study plan (ISP) used at Teknat will be treated both as a legal document and a tool for planning and follow-up of studies, and reflection over the development. Moreover, the aims and purposes of doctoral education at the faculty will be discussed.

For newly appointed main and assistant supervisors, the 3-weeks-course given by central UU is recommended.
