Science and Technology faculty funding for pedagogical development (TUFF)
You are invited to apply for funding for pedagogical development projects within the Faculty of Science and Technology at the undergraduate and Master’s levels (doctoral education excluded). The call aims to encourage and support projects that contribute to the pedagogical development of programmes, programme courses, and standalone courses, both on campus and online. The faculty also welcomes broader projects aimed at developing working methods that support teaching and learning, and that address current trends and needs. Collaboration within the faculty and with other relevant actors, both nationally and internationally (e.g. alumni), is viewed positively. Funding is awarded to projects that demonstrate strong potential for pedagogical innovation and are grounded in clear pedagogical ideas.
The funds come from the Faculty of Science and Technology’s fund for pedagogical development (TUFF). A total of up to SEK 3.8 million will be allocated. Funding is primarily granted for personnel costs; other major costs are only funded in exceptional cases. The budget should include both direct and indirect costs.

Criteria for projects
Projects are assessed according to the following criteria:
Potential and innovation
- Clearly formulated pedagogical idea
- Degree of innovation in the given context
- Expected impact on teaching and student learning
- Benefit for subject area(s), programmes, the faculty, and society
Method and implementation
- Relation to similar projects and/or relevant literature
- Clear and realistic project plan
- Organisation and involvement of relevant stakeholders (students, colleagues and programme council). Collaboration with external partners (national/international, e.g. alumni) is advantageous.
Competence
- Pedagogical qualifications
- Adequate competence within the project team
Evaluation and impact
- Plan for evaluating implementation and results
- Plan for dissemination of outcomes and impact
Requirements for the dissemination of project results
Person(s) responsible for projects that receive funding are required to:
- Participate in the TUFF project network, which serves both as support and as a platform for dissemination and follow-up.
- Submit a report (minimum three pages) describing the idea, implementation, results, and evaluation of the project, no later than the calendar year following project completion. The report should be written in a way that interested colleagues can learn from the project.
- Contribute to dissemination within the faculty, e.g. through a faculty conference (TUK), or at a national/international conference or teaching and learning event, no later than the calendar year after completion.

- Budget: Personnel costs (including LKP) should include name, period and extent of activity. Specify all other costs in detail. Funds are only granted for pedagogical development, ie, not for costs of course implementation, or costs for material and premises. The budget must include both direct and indirect costs.
- Plan for evaluation and dissemination of the results:
- Pedagogical qualifications: Describe the pedagogical qualifications of the participants within the project (maximum one page per person).
If the application concerns prolongation of an ongoing or finished project this should be stated clearly in the application.
Describe the educational qualifications of the project participants (maximum one page per project participant).
If the application is an extension of an ongoing or completed project, this must be clearly stated in the application.
