Executive Committee

The Faculty of Science and Technology Faculty Board has a Working Committee that decides on the following matters relating to appointments. For complete information, see the Rules of Procedure for the Disciplinary Domain of Science and Technology.

• Appointing search committees for professorial appointments, following a proposal from the relevant section dean
• Adopting appointment specifications for associate professors, assistant professors and lecturers, following a proposal from the relevant department board
• Deciding to initiate recruitments of associate professors, assistant professors, adjunct associate professors, lecturers, adjunct lecturers, adjunct professors and visiting professors, following a proposal from the relevant department board
• Submitting proposals to the Vice-Chancellor for individuals to fill advertised professorial posts, following a proposal from the Recruitment Committee
• Submitting proposals to the Vice-Chancellor for adjunct professorial appointments, following a proposal from the Recruitment Committee
• Deciding on the appointment of visiting professors for periods shorter than six months, following a proposal from the relevant head of department
• Submitting proposals to the Vice-Chancellor for the appointment of visiting professors for six months or longer, following a proposal from the relevant head of department
• Submitting proposals to the Vice-Chancellor for appointing a professor instead of an associate professor, following a proposal from the Recruitment Committee
• Approving the discontinuation of recruitment procedures for associate professor, assistant professor, adjunct associate professor, lecturer or adjunct lecturer, following a proposal from the relevant head of department
• Appointing two subject representatives (one of whom is rapporteur) as members of the Recruitment Committee for each individual matter concerning the appointment of a professor, associate professor or assistant professor, or promotion to associate professor or professor, following a proposal from the relevant section dean
• Appointing referees and special referees for the appointment of professors, adjunct professors and visiting professors, following a proposal from the relevant section dean
• Appointing referees for applications for promotion to professor, following a proposal from the relevant section dean
• Submitting proposals to the Vice-Chancellor for promotions from associate professor to professor, following a proposal from the Recruitment Committee
• Deciding on promotions of assistant professors to associate professor, following a proposal from the Recruitment Committee

• Two student representatives with the right to attend and speak at meetings.
  

Matters are decided in the presence of the Faculty Office’s administrator. Union representatives have the right to attend and speak at meetings following notification. The Working Committee meets once a week during the semester.
