Description

There is an increased interest in and demand for children to be involved and listened to in all matters concerning them. Therefore, it is important to find methods for involving the children or to evaluate interventions from the children's perspective.

In My Shoes is a computer-assisted interview tool that can help children talk about their experiences and feelings. The interviewer uses the computer program together with the child while asking questions and the child answers.

Our studies conclude that In My Shoes provides reliable and complete statements from the child. In My Shoes also seems to be especially useful in helping shy children to talk. Close examination of the content of the children's statements revealed that the children could talk both detailed and elaborated about their feelings and experiences.
