”Together for a safe start” – An extended home visiting program in vulnerable areas
Low socio-economic status has been shown to be associated with mental and physical ill health and increased health care use. To counteract the long-term risks of disease in adulthood due to health inequalities and toxic stress in childhood, early intervention is now a priority.

Low socio-economic status has been shown to be associated with mental and physical ill health and increased health care use. To counteract the long-term risks of disease in adulthood due to health inequalities and toxic stress in childhood, early intervention is now a priority.
"Together for a safe start" is a pilot project aiming to strengthen the conditions for good and equal child health. The pilot is carried out through six home visits according to the so-called "Rinkeby model" and two supplementary clinic visits; one at the end of pregnancy and one when the child is about 2 years old.
A team from CHAP is evaluating the pilot project. Involved in the project are Anna Sarkadi, Gunilla Lönnberg, Georgina Warner, Kerstin Edvardsson, Sergio Flores, Emma Geijer Simpson, Karin Fängström, Anton Dahlberg, Inna Feldman, Katarina Garefalaki Kornaros and Antonia Tökés.
