Titel: Decoding gene regulation in disease: RNA networks drive metabolic reprogramming and cellular phenotypes
Värd: Xiaonan Zhang
Short bio:
Claudia Kutter is a Principal Researcher and Group Leader at Karolinska Institutet and SciLifeLab in Stockholm, Sweden. She received her PhD from the University of Basel following research at the Friedrich Miescher Institute in Switzerland, where she investigated the role of microRNAs in stem cell differentiation. She subsequently joined Cancer Research UK and the University of Cambridge as a postdoctoral researcher, where she studied the evolution and genome-wide regulation of non-coding RNAs and regulatory sequences in mammals. In 2016, she joint the Karolinska Institute as a SciLifeLab and Wallenberg Fellow. Her research focuses on how coding and non-coding genomic elements coordinate gene regulation and how these mechanisms are disrupted in disease. Her lab combines experimental and computational multi-omics to study post-transcriptional regulation, particularly in liver disease and cancer, with the aim of uncovering disease mechanisms and identifying new diagnostic and therapeutic opportunities.
