Förståelse av tumörmetastasering.
Studierna syftar till att öka vår förståelse av tumörmetastasering genom att undersöka en experimentell musmodell där Shb-genen inaktiverats. Särskilt kommer immuncellssvar att studeras. Eventuellt kommer nya behandlingsprinciper kunna utvecklas som en konsekvens av studierna.
SHB-genen i tumörens biologi
SHB är ett signaleringsprotein nedströms om viktiga tillväxtfaktorsreceptorer såsom VEGF-receptorn, PDGF-receptorerna och immuncellsreceptorn.
