Research
My research can be divided into two main areas:
1. Selection, implementation and use of IT systems, such as ERP systems in manufacturing companies or decision support systems in healthcare. How does an organization select a new IT system, what images do they have regarding IT, what needs, opportunities and limitations are realized, and what value is created and for whom? There is a mutual interaction between IT and human actors that is complex and difficult to predict – and as the IT artefacts develop over time and become increasingly sophisticated, many new situations arise where research needs to develop knowledge! The start of this research interest came through my participation in the research school MIT (https://www.uu.se/forskning/forskarskolan-management-och-it) where I was a doctoral student and then a supervisor.
2. The field of e-health: using digital tools and exchanging information digitally to achieve and maintain health (physical, mental and social well-being). What opportunities and difficulties does the development of e-health entail, for the employees in health care, for the patients and for the relations between doctors and patients? In this area, I have mainly carried out research within the research consortium DOME (https://domeconsortium.org/), which is an interdisciplinary research network with participants from several universities.
