Short presentation
Whether human sociality should primarily be understood as cooperative (as Aristotle seems to do) or competitive (Hobbes) is an old discussion in the western history of ideas. Since Darwin, evolutionary theory has become a partner in this discussion.
In my project I want to analyze what the implications of evolutionary theory are for this question of human sociality, and in a second step, how we can integrate these implications in a theological and philosophical anthropology.
