Short presentation
Alexandre Raffoul is PhD student at the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies, Uppsala University. His research focuses on ethnic conflict and power-sharing as a tool for conflict transformation in multi-ethnic societies. His current project focuses on the causes and consequences of "associational" power-sharing.

Biography
Prior to joining the department, Alexandre Raffoul worked as Associate Researcher for swisspeace's mediation team. He was Principal Investigator for a project on power-sharing and peace mediation (funded by the United State Institue of Peace, USIP), and Researcher on a project on the financing of peace negotiation and mediation processes (funded by the Swiss Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, FDFA). He previously worked for International IDEA on a project on the timing and sequencing of post-conflict elections. Alexandre Raffoul holds a M. Sc. in International Studies from the University of Montreal, Canada, and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland.
