Short presentation

I am a PhD-student at the Center for Gender Research.

In my PhD thesis unsettling trajectories: thinking queerly with Sámi feminisms, art and the archive I discuss Nordic coloniality, gender and sexuality. I do this through a conversation between queer studies and Indigenous Sámi feminist thinking.

Biography

I have my educational background in political theory and gender studies but my research interests vary beyond clear cut disciplinary boundaries. I work with settler colonial studies, queer of colour theorising, Sámi feminism, thinking on Indigenous resurgence and decolonisation. In addition, I am interested in creative and exploratory methodological approaches ranging from digital, artistic, archival and decolonial methods.

I welcome all invitations to collaborations in these areas!

I have a broad teaching experience from both undergraduate and graduate levels, from both in-person and online settings. During my PhD education I have taught on different topics:

  • Nordic colonialism
  • Postcolonial theory
  • Queer and trans studies
  • Intersectional and Black feminist studies
  • Indigenous theory
  • Femininities and masculinities

During 2022-2025 I worked as a book review editor for the Nordic queer studies journal lambda nordica.

2021-2024 I coordinated the Queer Seminars at the Centre for Gender Research.
