Short presentation
In addition to working as a public health scientist/researcher, I am also a yoga and mindfulness teacher. My career path was shaped by the desire to contribute to the movement towards more holistic approaches in society and health care. I am passionate about health-promoting early interventions that support families and give children a better start in life.
Research
In one project, I am evaluating an extended home visiting program from child health services together with social services offered to families having their first child or first child in Sweden who live in vulnerable areas. In my other project, I am adapting and evaluating a mindfulness-based parenting support to Swedish maternal health care. The intervention is called ‘Parenting with Awareness and Compassion’ and consists of four group meetings for expectant parents. Basically, it is about building more well-being, compassion and insight needed in the transition to a more sustainable and regenerative society.
