Rajan Kumar Pandey

Short presentation

I am a postdoctoral researcher at IMBIM, Uppsala University, working in translational immunology with a focus on tolerogenic vaccines and autoimmune diseases, mainly rheumatoid arthritis. My research integrates immunology and protein biochemistry approaches to develop a tolerogenic vaccine with therapeutic potential. I am interested in bridging fundamental immunology with clinical translation and collaborative life science innovation.

Biography

Dr. Rajan Kumar Pandey is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Microbiology (IMBIM), Uppsala University. His work focuses on translational immunology, tolerogenic vaccine development, and mechanisms of autoimmune disease. With expertise in Immunology, protein biochemistry, and antibody engineering, he develops preclinical strategies aimed at advancing next-generation immunotherapies and bridging fundamental research with clinical application.

Research

My research focuses on developing tolerogenic vaccines for autoimmune diseases, particularly rheumatoid arthritis. We have established unique humanized mouse models expressing human MHC-II alleles (DRB1*0401/*0405/*0402). We are screening MHC-II–peptide complexes that can induce antigen-specific tolerance by limiting co-stimulation. This work integrates immunology, protein biochemistry, and translational preclinical approaches to better understand and modulate pathogenic immune responses.
