Biography
Ulf Danielsson has been professor of theoretical physics since 2000. He was dean of the Physics Section from 2005 to 2011 and has held a large number of other positions of trust within and outside the University. His research deals with string theory with a special focus on applications in cosmology. He was awarded the 2008 Göran Gustafsson Prize in physics and the 2009 Thuréus Prize. He has devoted a great deal of his time to popularizing activities and is the author of award-winning books that have been translated into several languages. He has also been featured as a summer host on P1 radio in Sweden. He is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, the Royal Society of Arts and Sciences of Uppsala, and the Royal Society of Sciences in Uppsala.
