Qilu Friendship Award 2019 to Jonas Bergquist

Jonas Bergquist, Professor of Analytical Chemistry/Neurochemistry at the Department of Chemistry - BMC, has been awarded the Qilu Friendship Award 2019 by the Shandong provincial people's government in China.
According to a communique, the decision is based on recommendations from several
colleagues, institutions and the opinion of the Qilu Friendship Award assessment committee. It is the highest honors awarded by the Shandong provincial people's government to reward foreign experts “for their outstanding contributions to Shandong's scientific, economic and social development”. About 20 experts are awarded each year and “Professor Bergquist is among those who stand out from the 40,000 foreign experts who collaborate with colleagues in Shandong”, a province in China with a total of 91 250,000 inhabitants.
The award ceremony took place in Jinan on 2 December, 2019.
