On 15 November, 42 new professors will be installed at Uppsala University. That week, they will each give a lecture on the research they have carried out. Take the opportunity to listen to exciting presentations about elementary particles, bacterial weapons and powerful men.
Uppsala University has held professorial inaugurations since 1625, and on Friday 15 November it will be time again. That day, all the new professors will be installed in their posts at a formal ceremony in the University’s Grand Auditorium. The new professors will also offer inaugural lectures where they will talk about their research. Three lectures will be given during the ceremony itself on the Friday, while the others will speak between 11 and 14 November.
On those days you will be able to attend lectures with titles such as Bacterial Weapons and the Body’s Defences; Elementary Particles, Fundamental Physics and the Universe; and Powerful Men and Gender Equality as Ideology and Strategy. The lectures are open to the public, as is the actual inauguration of professors. However, tickets are required for the inauguration ceremony and can be booked here.
