Four out of five academic research positions in languages go to Uppsala University

Jonas Karlsson, Shu Li, Johan Lundberg and Fredrik Valdeson have been appointed to new academic research positions in languages.
The Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities has appointed five language researchers to academic research positions to strengthen language research in Sweden. Four of these positions are placed at Uppsala University.
The Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities and the Natur & Kultur Foundation will be funding the new academic research positions for post-doctoral researchers to strengthen language research in Sweden. The positions, which are for three years with the possibility of a two-year extension, can be placed at any Swedish higher education institution.
“The Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities aims to help maintain and develop a high level of linguistic competence in languages ranging from the major world languages to older cultural and minority languages. Language expertise is linked to knowledge in the history, literature and cultural heritage of different language areas, which is a key resource for society to maintain,” says Torun Lindholm Öjmyr, Secretary General of the Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities in a press release.
The following researchers have been awarded an academic research position at Uppsala University:
