SwePrint

SwePrint is a new infrastructure that will build a national digital infrastructure 2026 – 2030, providing access to large quantities of Swedish print material, both individual books and curated data sets. The aim is to support all research involving the analysis of Swedish printed material by establishing a digital platform, digitising Swedish printed material (from the 15th century onwards) and collecting previously digitised text material.

Through SwePrint, researchers, students and the general public will have secure, easily accessible and simplified access to older printed material and more contemporary books – including the handling of rights issues – on a shared platform. The infrastructure also offers support for advanced digital analysis methods.

SwePrint is half-funded by the Swedish Research Council and a consortium consisting of the Swedish universities of Lund, Umeå, Uppsala, Stockholm and Gothenburg, as well as the National Library of Sweden (KB). The Swedish Academy provides financial support to SwePrint. The infrastructure is led by Lund University and is located at KB (and the KB-labb data laboratory) and at the respective university libraries.
